Aurora Aksnes was born 15 June 1996 in Stavanger, Norway. She is professionally known as Aurora and occasionally stylized using uppercase letters as AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15, 2015 it received a raving review from the music blogosphere and the media. The singer has released a number of high-profile cover songs, including Half the World Away (by the band Oasis) for John Lewis' Christmas advert and Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) The songs are widely loved. Katy Perry's endorsement for her hit song Runaway in a blog entry added to the musician's acknowledgement. It was her birthday celebration. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was discovering a piano within her loft and being fascinated by the music. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents May Britt Aksnes, and Jan Oystein Aksnes urged Aurora Aksnes to pursue music for a hobby or profession. She began writing the songs she wrote herself.
