Aurora

Aurora Aksnes was born 15 June 1996 in Stavanger, Norway. She is professionally known as Aurora and occasionally stylized using uppercase letters as AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15, 2015 it received a raving review from the music blogosphere and the media. The singer has released a number of high-profile cover songs, including Half the World Away (by the band Oasis) for John Lewis' Christmas advert and Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) The songs are widely loved. Katy Perry's endorsement for her hit song Runaway in a blog entry added to the musician's acknowledgement. It was her birthday celebration. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was discovering a piano within her loft and being fascinated by the music. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents May Britt Aksnes, and Jan Oystein Aksnes urged Aurora Aksnes to pursue music for a hobby or profession. She began writing the songs she wrote herself. In addition to Bjork She also cites Leonard Cohen as an influence. Her mother urged her to play her songs in public, not to become famous but rather assist others in understanding how valuable their voices are and how they could do to improve the world. The piano was her first instrument at age six and making music at the age of nine. The family did not know about her musical talents until she turned 14. Aurora was not a goal. She says she just likes to compose songs. Music is for her the best method to convey anything.
